This grand cru Manjari originates from Madagascar, amazingly enough. This sunny island is the only chocolate-producing region that doesn't have a tropical climate. The cacao beans call to mind blackcurrant and blueberry. The tartness lingers deliciously on the palate and, thanks to the power of the Trinitario, this chocolate is sufficient unto itself at 64%. A long finish and yet quite frank with notes of berries. |
